AI@Ashoka Seminar
Educational Seminar | Ashoka University | 1-3 May, 2023
We are excited to announce the successful completion of the AI/ML workshop held at Ashoka University from 1st to 3rd May. The workshop, organized as part of the AI@Ashoka initiative under the Ashoka Mphasis Lab, aimed to foster knowledge sharing and explore the potential applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) across various disciplines.
Led by Prof. Partha P. Chakrabarti, Advisor Computer Science to Ashoka University and Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, the workshop gathered faculty members to delve into the latest research trends, teaching methodologies for non-computer science students, and future plans for AI integration throughout the university.
The event featured a comprehensive agenda that encompassed four insightful talks per day on the 1st and 2nd of May. Prof. Chakrabarti and Prof. Subhashih Banerjee, the Head of Computer Science, chaired the sessions on these two days. On the 3rd of May, the focus shifted towards outlining future plans with the Ashoka Faculty members and advisors from various departments.
With the active participation of faculty members from diverse disciplines, the workshop facilitated engaging discussions, knowledge exchange, and networking opportunities. The event not only provided valuable insights into the latest advancements in AI/ML but also addressed the challenges and opportunities associated with teaching AI to non-computer science students.
We extend our gratitude to all participants for their enthusiastic engagement and contributions throughout the workshop. This event marks an important step toward realizing Ashoka University's vision of becoming a leader in AI and ML research and education. This workshop was the first in a series and the next one will be in August/September.
